Tarcisio, the father: mountain guide, ski instructor, ultra-trail runner, sculptor and woodturner. Beekeeping and cultivating small fruits are two of his many tasks.
Rosanna, the mother: art and craft enthusiast, she also cares for the beautiful flowers that adorn our garden.
Chiara e Valeria: fourth generation of the family and now running Maison du Tatà; different but both with guest care as their priority.

Early Twentieth Century
Our great-grandfather Francesco welcomed the first tourists to Valtournenche by offering rooms to rent with bathroom on the landing
Fifties
Grandfather Mario converted part of the main house and created the first apartments with private bathrooms.
Eighties
Father Tarcisio and mother Rosanna had the house and annex completely renovated to make everything cosier and welcoming. They also converted the area behind the house into a colourful garden for wild flowers and herbs
Today
We took over the management of the apartments in 2014 to continue an adventure that gives us enormous satisfaction each day.
A name that tells our passion
“Tatà” is a traditional Aosta Valley toy fashioned in wood by the expert hands of local craftsmen.
Intentionally onomatopoeic, the name alludes to the clicking noise made by the wheels on the floor.
Quaintly old-fashioned toys from bygone times, symbols of an area that has evolved but continues to treat traditions with respect, i.e. us in a nutshell: we work with enthusiasm to welcome and assist our guest as though they were old friends and to project the authentic feeling of warmth and hospitality that is a distinctive feature of our facility.
Over the years we have cultivated acquaintances which have developed into friendships. This is why we intend to personally take care of every detail in the services we provide. Furnishings, books, amenities: everything around you exemplifies our desire to make you feel at home…the first place to which you wish to return.
Relaxation and leisurely pastimes in Rosanna’s garden
The large garden at the back of Maison du Tatà is equipped with lounge chairs and sub loungers for peaceful moments in communion with nature.
But if you want to have fun in the company of friends you’ll find an outfitted barbecue area, table tennis table and a kids play area.
Love for the land, care for the environment
We respect the nature that surrounds us: this is why we have invested in green energy by installing solar panels to produce electricity.
We use modern technologies to reduce the pollution caused by heating systems: wood from our forests and pellets that we make ourselves supply a power plant that heats the entire residence.
Tarcisio’s apiary
We can count on a sheltered and uncontaminated woodland area, rich in water and flowers: we painstakingly and personally take care of the honey extraction, inspection and packaging stages.
